STEVE RIZZI LOSES RACE FOR MARYLAND HOUSE OF DELEGATES

GAMBRILLS, MD – Voters in Maryland’s District 33A voted two Republicans into the House of Delegates, following a Republican wave that swept the district.  While final results have not been reported by the state Board of Elections, Steve Rizzi conceded defeat at 10:30 p.m.

“I would like to thank all of the people that supported me and my candidacy,” Rizzi said from his campaign headquarters.  “I have been very pleased with the public’s response to my ideas, however, I had hoped that more people would have looked past my party affiliation to real substance, integrity, and a history of public service,” he added.

Mr. Rizzi will continue on as a Corporate Vice President at Science Applications International Corporation, the nation’s largest privately held R&D company.  In addition to his responsibilities in this capacity, Mr. Rizzi is an active advisor to national, state, and county government on matters of technology and economic development.
